Independent
ECI is a consultant, installation contractor, and service provider, for building technology systems. We sell products made by many different manufacturers. We also have alliances with other independent building systems providers throughout the U.S. for the sharing of information and technology. Although we respect and work closely with manufacturers of products we sell, our first and most important allegiance is to our customers. We are not exclusively bound to the products of one manufacturer - we can offer whatever product best meets our client's needs. What we primarily sell is our control systems knowledge and expertise - that is more important than the brand of the control components.
ECI does not promote any particular communication protocol. ECI can provide and service either of the two open protocols, LonTalk and BACnet, commonly used in buildings. For new installations we strongly recommend the use of these open protocols. Also we can service or provide proprietary protocols such as Johnson's "N2", Honeywell's "C-bus", Modbus, or similar proprietary products.

For all building technology systems ECI provides preconstruction consulting, engineering, programming, start-up, commissioning or re-commissioning, installation, emergency repair, and planned maintenance.

Integration Solutions
ECI can integrate products from multiple different manufacturers, using different open and proprietary protocols, into a single building technology system with a uniform and user friendly human interface. This capability sets us apart from our competition.
Our Services
Construction Services
ECI's Construction Services Group consists of Project Management, Engineering, Installation, Programming and Startup. The Project Manager is responsible for budget, schedule, quality, installation management, and customer satisfaction. The Construction Services Group provides quality installations ranging from a $2,000 tenant improvement to a $2,000,000 integrated building system for a new hospital.
Controls Services
ECI's Controls Services Group provides on-demand repair service and planned preventative maintenance to fix or prevent problems with existing building technology systems. The technicians on staff are highly qualified to handle a full range of products and system.
Special Projects and Integrations ("SPI") Group
ECI's SPI Group specializes in complex applications of building technology systems. SPI has the expertise to integrate multiple products, protocols, and standalone systems into a single building technology system with a uniform and user friendly computer front end.
Core Services
ECI's Core Services Group is the internal support for the company. It includes accounts receivable, project setup, accounts payable, shipping and receiving, human resources, filing, answering telephones, financial statements, and credit management.
