• Executive Team

  • Tobias Ervin - President, CEO
    • Experience

    • Tobias started his career as an IBEW Electrician. Later his vocational training and field experience helped him to perform the role of Building Automation System (BAS) Project Manager for the Trane Company. During his time with Trane Tobias transitioned from Operations to Sales and Marketing.

      Tobias' education includes electrical vocational training, Project Management Professional training program and Bachelor of Science in Business Management from U.O.P.

    • Tobias joined the ECI team in 2005. While with ECI he has held the titles of Sales Executive, Sales Manager, Vice President of Sales and now is the President, Sales & Service. Tobias' responsibilities include oversight of Sales and Marketing, Core Services, Special Projects and Integrations Group, and Service.

    • Outside of Work

    • Tobias loves hiking with his wife and two daughters, playing golf, working out at the gym, and playing a few chords on his Les Paul guitar.

  • Nick Korolsky - Vice-President, Controller
    • Experience

    • Nick started his career as an entry level accountant for a restaurant supply store. His role required basic accounting including financial statement preparation. Later Nick worked for a Fortune 500 financial institution where he was responsible for purchasing and payroll.

      Nick's education includes a Bachelor of Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting from Western New Mexico University.

    • Nick joined the ECI team in 2006. While with ECI he has held the titles of Controller / Human Resources Manager and Vice President, Controller. Nick's responsibilities include Financials, Compliance, and Management of all office support functions.

    • Outside of Work

    • Nick's number one activity is spending time with his wife, daughter and two sons. He also loves to watch sports on television and live. It is not uncommon to find Nick in his yard building something with wood - he really enjoys carpentry.

  • Claudia Behnke - Executive Assistant
    • Experience

    • Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, Claudia started her career owning and operating several businesses. She clearly understands the many demands and challenges of operating a successful business as well as the importance of customer and employee satisfaction.

    • Claudia joined the ECI team in 2008. She has held the titles of Credit Manager and Executive Assistant. Her responsibilities include credit management, accounts receivable and sales and marketing support.

    • Outside of Work

    • Claudia's favorite hobby is her family. Claudia also loves to cook, hike Arizona's many amazing trails, go for long walks, read, travel and once in a while if the water is real clear scuba dive.

• Sales & Marketing Team

  • Tom Lang - Sr. Sales Engineer
    • Experience

    • Tom started his career as a Sales Engineer working for Johnson Controls first in Washington DC and later in Phoenix. He then worked in several different areas within the HVAC controls industry including roles as General Manager for Environmental Systems of Arizona, Vice President of Control Devices, and Sales Engineer for Pro Services.

      Tom's education includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Industrial Management from Purdue University.

    • Tom joined the ECI team in 1996. He has held the title of Sales Engineer during his time at ECI. Tom's responsibilities include sales of building technology systems and integration solutions. With Tom's extensive background he is uniquely qualified to handle complex mechanical system design and the application of technology systems.

    • Outside of Work

    • Tom loves to spend time with his bride whom he married on September 1, 1964. He calls her a "great lady". Tom also enjoys time with his three boys and their families including five grandchildren. When not spending time with his family Tom likes reading poetry. His favorite author is Alfred Lord Tennyson.

  • Jerry Laughlin - Sales Engineer
    • Experience

    • Jerry started his career at the Trane Company in various sales/manager/special projects roles related to industrial and commercial HVAC equipment. In 1984 he worked in Houston Trane's newly formed temperature controls group in sales and general management. Later Jerry worked in general management and sales for Climatec's new temperature controls group. Between 2001 and 2008 Jerry worked for Trane and Honeywell in control systems sales.

      Jerry's education includes many building technology related courses as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.

    • Jerry joined the ECI team in 2008. While with ECI he has held the title of Sales Engineer. Jerry's responsibilities include sales of building technology systems and integration solutions. With Jerry's extensive background he is uniquely qualified to handle complex mechanical system design and the application of technology systems.

    • Outside of Work

    • Jerry loves to spend time with his family. Also Jerry has a real love of reading. When he plan's a vacation it often includes a camping trip or a voyage to the mountains for a hunt. Jerry also likes to spend time in the outdoors hiking.

  • Mike Halloran - Estimating Manager
    • Experience

    • Mike started his career working for a distributor called the Charles D. Jones Company. This is where Mike learned the heating and air-conditioning business. Eventually Mike worked in the "parts and smarts" building controls division of the company providing contractors who wanted to install their own systems. Mike engineered and provided those contractors with Honeywell, Johnson Controls, and Rorbertshaw products. Eventually he worked his way to becoming a Branch Manager.

      Mike's education includes a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Pittsburg State University.

    • In 1994 Mike joined forces with John Anderten and Bob Genthon to form ECI Arizona, Inc. While with ECI, Mike has held the titles of President and currently fulfills the role of Estimating Manger.

    • Outside of Work

    • Mike has three passions that are in constant competition to be first... golf, fishing and Rock n Roll - Rock n Roll, golf and fishing. Mike likes to cook but much prefers to eat.

• Construction Services Team

  • Loren Waxman - Sr. Project Manager
    • Experience

    • Loren started his career as a manager at a candle factory where he worked nights and was responsible for eight to ten employees. Later he worked for a residential electrical contractor where he worked his way into a management role and was responsible for the installation of electrical systems for homes.

    • Team ECI

    • Loren joined the ECI team in 1997. While with ECI he has held the titles of Installation Technician, Field Foreman / Supervisor and Project Manager. His responsibilities include the management of an average of 35 projects ranging from simple tenant improvements to complex chilled water systems and waste water treatment facilities.

    • Outside of Work

    • Loren loves to spend time with his wife and 5 year old son. Loren met his wife while employed with ECI and has built his family while developing his career. Frequently Loren and his family take advantage of their time together by taking in the outdoors camping and riding their quads/ATVs. Loren also has a passion for working out, nutrition and health.

  • Craig Miller - Project Manager
    • Experience

    • Craig started his career as an outside salesman and for new equipment in the Industrial and Automotive Industry. Later Craig found a passion for working in the construction industry after he accepted a role working for a Building Automation System (BAS) contractor. Craig quickly rose to become a Field Foreman and Superintendent for challenging projects like 4th Avenue Jail, John C Lincoln Hospital, Banner Thunderbird Hospital, and Anthem High School.

    • Craig joined ECI in 2006. While with ECI Craig has held the titles of Project Foreman and currently Project Manager. Craig is responsible for scheduling, planning and budgeting projects. He also coordinates project requirements with programmers and engineering. In addition, Craig is focused on communicating and coordinating with clients.

    • Outside of Work

    • Craig loves spending time with his family. He especially enjoys time with his boys hunting and fishing at his cabin in Nutrioso, AZ.

  • Matt Yergler - Project Manager
    • Experience

    • Matt started his career working as an electrician for a local contractor doing high-end custom homes and cabins. He also worked installing commercial electrical systems and telecom facilities.

      Matt's education includes training courses in KMC, Honeywell and Johnson Controls.

    • Matt joined the ECI team in 2001. While with ECI Matt has held the titles of Installation Technician, Field Foreman/Supervisor and Project Manager. Matt's responsibilities include the management of multiple projects concurrently, formulating and maintaining schedules and formulating and maintaining project budgets.

    • Outside of Work

    • Matt loves to spend time with his wife and two boys. They partake in "anything outdoors". Including hiking, camping and fishing. Matt also enjoys four wheeling in his Bronco.

• Special Projects & Integration Team

  • Jerry Behnke - Manager of Special Projects and Integration Group
    • Experience

    • Jerry started his career in 1979 with Johnson Controls as a warehouse clerk and worked his way up to Service Technician. In 1986 Jerry went to work with Honeywell where he became Lead Systems Service Technician. In 2000 Jerry started a Building Automation System department for a mechanical contracting firm. While building the department he was responsible for sales, engineering, project management and training.

    • Jerry joined the ECI team in 2007. While with ECI Jerry has held the titles of Software Engineer, Building Technology Service Manager and is currently the Special Systems and Integrations (SPI) group manager. He is responsible for team leadership, Project Management, custom integrations, product technologies training and conceptual design engineering and sales.

    • Outside of Work

    • Jerry can usually be found spending time with his wife and children. He and his family often go for hikes or enjoy each others company outdoors. He loves the family life! He also enjoys flying - he's an FAA Licensed Pilot. Somehow he always finds time to feed his technology habits.

  • Greg Ricci - Project Manager
    • Experience

    • Greg started his career in Facilities Maintenance for US Surgical Co. Later Greg became a pneumatic control systems technician and worked his way up to Journeyman in temperature controls. Greg's experience in pneumatic controls helped him transition to working with digital controls as a technician for a Building Controls / Mechanical Contractor. His firm grasp of systems helped him move up to the role of Project Manager.

      Greg's education includes a Union Apprenticeship Program to become a pneumatic Controls Systems Technician and various digital controls classes.

    • Greg joined the ECI team in November, 2008. Greg holds the title of Project Manager. Greg's responsibilities include management of personnel, technical support, and formulating and maintaining schedules and budgets for projects. Greg also provides continuous communication and coordination with clients during our execution of projects.

    • Outside of Work

    • Greg enjoys teaching little league, family life and all sorts of sports. Greg and his family really enjoy time together exploring all of Arizona's outdoor wonders.

• Engineering Team

  • Bob Genthon - Manager, Design and Application Engineer
    • Experience

    • Bob started his career as a union pipe fitter for Monsen Engineering in New Jersey. Later this experience and training helped him transition to managing the installation and start-up of Andover control systems.

      In 1982 Bob relocated to Arizona and worked first for Control Devices as a sales and design engineer and later for the Charles D. Jones Company as an applications engineer.

    • In 1994 Bob joined forces with Mike Halloran and John Anderten to form ECI Arizona. While with ECI he has held the titles of Engineering Manager, Operations Manager and Vice President. Bob is responsible for engineering, implementing and maintaining engineering standards, and coordinating with Project Managers and Programmers.

    • Outside of Work

    • Bob can be found dodging vehicles as he rides his bicycle throughout Phoenix streets and other areas in Arizona. He is also an avid swimmer and loves spending time with his wife and dogs.

  • Nick Rosenberry - Design and Application Engineer
    • Experience

    • Nick has a most interesting start to his career. He started out as an extra for several movies, television shows, and commercials. After getting his fill of show business he worked for the Trane Company as a commercial sales engineer.

      Nick's education includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University.

    • Nick joined the ECI team in 2007. While with ECI he has held the titles of Sales Engineer and Design and Application Engineer. Nick's responsibilities include engineering and producing design drawings for both HVAC controls and technology systems in accordance with the specifications and estimated costs. His work requires the formulation of submittals, design drawings, controller selection, equipment compatibility analysis, valve schedules, and room schedules. He also helps to support the building design engineering community.

    • Outside of Work

    • Nick enjoys restoring cars. He also likes to stay fit by working out. In addition he has a passion for watching movies. Instead of going to theatres he prefers to take advantage of his widescreen HD television and watch films at home.

  • Margaret Scott - Design and Application Engineer
    • Experience

    • Margaret started her career at Johnson Controls where she worked for eighteen years in sales and engineering. Then she continued in the same field working for JB Rogers / Kinetics for eight years in the Performance Contracting Group and Small Projects Group.

      Margaret graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Her course of study added accounting, marketing and business management to the core engineering curriculum.

    • Margaret joined ECI in 2005. While with ECI she has held the title of Design and Application Engineer. Her responsibilities include engineering and producing design drawings for HVAC controls and technology systems in accordance with the specifications and estimated costs. Her work requires the formulation of submittals, design drawings, controller selection, equipment compatibility analysis, valve schedules and room schedules.

    • Outside of Work

    • Margaret is most famous for her talents raising and training guide dogs. However, she has also been known to scuba dive, enjoy nature by camping, out with family and friends. She also loves to watch college football. "ROLL TIDE!".

• Service Team

  • John Kovalcik - Service Manager
    • Experience

    • John began his career in HVAC in 1983. John worked for several Contractors and eventually opened his own Air-conditioning Service business. He successfully operated his business for ten years. Over the years John has developed a vast knowledge of mechanical and building controls systems and possesses a firm understanding of what it takes to install and maintain building systems.

    • John joined the ECI Team in 2008. While with ECI he has held the title of Service Manager. His responsibilities include the management of the service department.

    • Outside of Work

    • John has been riding off-road motocross for the past 33 years. That's how he met his wife, Sabrina. John currently races all over the Southwest. Besides racing, John builds new motorcycles and refurbishes old ones. It's pretty common to find John, Sabrina and their three daughters racing.
